Summer Picnic – June 16

Please join us for a summer potluck picnic at Assiniboine Park on Saturday, June 16 from noon to 3 pm. This will be a fun afternoon with games for the kids (soccer, races, tag, etc) as well as time to enjoy the great nature playground. It will be a true picnic – so bring your picnic blanket or chairs! We will have a table or two set up for food and are asking each family to bring a contribution to the potluck (eg a salad, or veggies, or some sandwiches,  or fruit… you decide!)  Paper plates, napkins, and lemonade will be provided.

We’ll be picnicking in the large field just to the east of the duck pond, for convenient access to the playground and the washrooms. See the park map here for details. Parking lots are shown on the map – note that the east gate zoo lot should have lots of room since that entrance to the zoo is closed now. Families coming from the north may find it easier to park on Portage or a nearby side street and just walk across the footbridge.
