For a little over two years, I have been the volunteer organizer for events for the local Ethiopian adoptive community in Winnipeg. For personal reasons I won’t be able to continue in this role, and it’s probably time to hand it off to someone with fresh ideas & enthusiasm anyway.
Interested in getting involved? It’s not hard! The Ethiopian Canadian Kids website is going to remain mine and change focus somewhat to appeal to a more general audience, so there are no web-related duties. I will still publicize on the site any events that are planned for the local community (whether by adoptive parents or by local Ethiopian associations.) The event organizer will be the one to come up with ideas for events, plan them, and get the word out to families (via word of mouth, message boards and websites, and adoption agencies if you wish.)
